What does the Kinship Care Team do?
What does the team do?
We assess potential family and friends carers and offer support packages to help family and friends’ carers look after children. We ensure that carers are regularly contacted to ensure that all is going well with the placement.We also undertale Special Guardianship Orders (SGO) and draw up SGO support packages.
We also provide support groups and training where Kinship Carers have the opportunity to discuss issues and network with other carers.
Where applicable, financial support may be provided which is means tested and subject to financial assessment. More details are available by contacting the Kinship Care Team.
All support is provided in conjunction with the child's social worker and/or Kinship Care social worker.
