Redoan is a very happy and inquisitive toddler. He has beautiful long eyelashes which usually draws comments from anyone who meets him. Redoan’s foster carers describe him as a contented and clever little boy who is happy to play on his own and explore his
surroundings.

Redoan came into care due to concerns over his birth mother’s parenting skills and issues around domestic violence. Since coming into care, Redoan has settled well with his current carers and has a good attachment with them. He doesn’t like being left on his own and will cry if his carers are not in sight.

Redoan has no health concerns and his immunisation are up to date. His nurse has said his development in general is very good. Redoan eats well and is not fussy.

Redoan will happily make friends at a playgroup he attends but like children of his age, is not always willing to share. Redoan enjoys listening to Bengali music and likes to dance. Redoan’s carers say he enjoys cuddles and is a delight to care for.

Henna is a bright little girl with a shy smile. Henna is affectionate and expresses it very openly by blowing kisses and offering cuddles to her foster carers.

Henna appears to have a quiet and calm personality. She is happy in the company of others and also able to play on her own. Henna particularily loves playing with balls and gets excited watching them bounce. She also enjoys playing with cars and likes a game of peek a boo.

Henna goes to sleeps at around 7pm and wakes up at 7am. She does not wake up at night and is bright as a button when she rises in the morning. Currently she has no major health concerns and is developing well but does use an inhaler for a wheezy chest. In May 2011 she had an operation to remove a cyst on the top of her head and has fully recovered with no long term concerns. Henna is meeting her developmental milestones.

Henna has been with her current carers since she was one month old and has developed positive attachments and could transfer these to her adopters. She enjoys the warmth and security of her foster home and would thrive in a similar environment. She engages well with
children in the family and when she is out and about. Henna also engages with adults as long as she has sight of her carers.

Contact Plan: Indirect contact twice a year with birth mother

Legal Status: Care order and placement order

Ethnicity: Bangladeshi – Muslim

Family Needed: One or two parent family who can reflect and / or promote Henna’s culture and ethnicity

Eliza is a very happy natured child who smiles and giggles a lot. She loves interaction and will respond positively, kicking her feet and moving her arms excitedly. Eliza particularily enjoys being sung to and loves to feel wind and sun on her face.

Eliza has a high level of medical and developmental needs. She receives physiotherapy, uses a feeding tube but is being slowly introduced to foods orally and takes medication for her seizures. Her seizures currently affect her sleep pattern but it is hoped that with change is her medication that this could be stabilized.

Eliza had a preference to look to her left but with regular use of her standing frame, her neck is much stronger and she is more able to hold her head straight. There are concerns about her vision, but the extent of her visual impairment is not known. Her foster carer has noticed that her vision seems to be improving and she has been observed to track light.

Eliza will be attending the Stephen Hawking Special School for two days a week from January 2012.

Eliza’s foster carer has embraced caring for Eliza and gives her a lot of one to one interaction and as a result of this, Eliza has made a lot of improvements due to this level of stimulation. Her carer describes Eliza as delightful and a very determined child who gives a lot back.

Contact Plan: Letterbox contact and possible direct contact

Legal Status: Care order and placement order

Ethnicity: Polish – birth mother / Pakistani – birth father

Family Needed: We are interested to hear from any family who feel they can meet Eliza’s needs. Support package to be explored.

Dylan is a very happy and smiley little toddler who is into everything. He is always on the go and enjoys exploring his surroundings and playing with his toys. Dylan easily gets excited and will rock or jump up and down to demonstrate this emotion.

Dylan has formed a strong attachment with his foster carer and will seek out her comfort when he is upset or in unfamiliar situations. Dylan can be shy and will cover his eyes and will put his fingers in his ears, with reassurance he quickly overcomes his shyness.

Dylan is starting to use his first words and is developing his personality. He enjoys socialising with other children but has a tendency to be rough and will need firm boundaries. Health professionals are confident he is meeting all his developmental milestones.

Dylan enjoys eating and is not fussy but he will eat continuously and so his food intake will need to be monitored. Dylan rarely has a nap during the day and sleeps well through the night for 12 hours.

He enjoys playing outside with his ball and loves to get into mischief either hiding behind the shed or playing with the water in the bird bath. Dylan’s foster carer says he has so much to offer and his cheeky grin always makes her smile.

Ethnicity/religion:White UK

Family sought: We welcome enquiries from all adopters who could potentially meet Dylan’s needs

Legal status: Placement Order

Contact plan: Letterbox and/or direct with birth parent
